Log Buyer

General Job Description 
This job requires daily travel to logging sites and timber sales. Logs or timber are measured, graded, and purchased via direct negotiation. Other job responsibilities may include trucking coordination, timber sale administration and uploading scale data to the computer. Ideal candidates for this position will have at least two years of experience in a forestry related setting with experience buying logs and timber. A forestry degree is preferred but not required. 

Specific Requirements. 
-Scaling and grading logs and trees. 
-Building and maintaining excellent relationships withsuppliers, ensuring ethical, consistent, and professional dealings.
-Use of computer programs including email, excel, and word.
-Ability to work independently in a safe and effectivemanner in various outdoor conditions throughout the year. 

Compensation Package

Lumber Grader

Requirements: Strong math skills, willing to learn, option of going to NHLA Lumber Grading School, dependable, team worker

Lumber Piler

Requirements: Dependable, able to do physical work, team worker

Truck Driver

Tasks and duties will include:
· Carrying out routine vehicle checks
· Making sure that the load is correctly placed and is secure
· Receiving a signed BOL from the mill
· Maintaining a log book with details of daily trips
· Customer service

Requirements:
· Have at least three years of truck-driving experience
· Have a current CDL license and Medical Card
· Pass a pre-employment drug test
· Be reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
· Have a great attitude and strong work ethic
· Be capable and confident in your ability
